Planning estimates, not guarantees

Cost-of-living figures, salary-equivalency outputs, currency conversions and category estimates are research-based planning tools. The salary-equivalency feature is a ratio of modeled one-person core-cost midpoints and does not calculate income tax, payroll deductions or take-home pay. Prices, taxes, exchange rates, housing costs and personal spending patterns change. Your actual costs can differ materially from the examples shown.

Sources and updates

We aim to use transparent sources and review dates, but we do not guarantee that every figure is complete, current or error-free. Where a city is marked provisional or has limited evidence, that limitation is part of the result and should be considered before relying on it.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for checking important financial, tax, immigration, employment, housing and contractual decisions with the appropriate official source or qualified professional. Do not use the site as the sole basis for a binding financial commitment.
